LUMOS FOUNDATION
Lumos is a charity founded by J.K. Rowling, which transforms the lives of disadvantaged children by facilitating the end of institutional care around the world.
Lumos invited Act IV to work with them on their first ever gala in 2013. High profile prospective supporters of the charity joined J.K. Rowling and the Head of Warner Bros for an enchanted evening at the Warner Bros. Studios – The Making of Harry Potter. While the adults sat down to a spectacular dinner and auction in the ‘Great Hall of Hogwarts’, their children were whisked away to enjoy magical experiences on the film set, including close-up performances by Dynamo. The gala raised over £1 million and significantly increased the supporter base of this young and passionate organisation.
In September 2016, Act IV worked with Lumos to organise a special gala weekend for the ‘We are Lumos Worldwide’ campaign. The weekend included an intimate fundraising dinner, special acoustic set from Coldplay’s Chris Martin, a Facebook Live interview with J.K. Rowling, as well as a special gala performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, altogether raising over £1 million.
Act IV worked on all aspects of these events, from concept, production, entertainment, the auction and on the night delivery, as well as committee management, delivering an online auction, guest list, design and print and all preparation in the lead-up to the event.
