POET IN THE CITY

Poet in the City is a charity which is challenging the boundaries of live poetry, curating imaginative events which bring poetry to life for new audiences. Through their work they have fostered a genuine and growing appetite for accessible and inspiring poetry performances, and reach around 8,000 live audiences each year. Poet in the City’s volunteering and producing schemes support a thriving arts community and involve people of all ages and backgrounds in the creation of their work.

For Poet in the City’s 10th Birthday, they threw a fabulous fundraiser in the Royal Suite of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, with each room filled with immersive poetic-theatrical experiences.  Guests engaged whole-heartedly with the experiential nature of the event, with renewed enthusiasm for each surprise poetic event behind every closed door.

Act IV consulted with Poet in the City through a series of fundraising workshops. In the lead-up to the event, Act IV provided advice on best practise with a focus on fundraising targets and guest experience, as well as aiding with the innovative event format.

“Thank you to Act IV for taking us to the next level. I am so grateful to you for everything you have done for Poet in the City and last night simply wouldn’t have been possible without your support and constantly going above and beyond.
It has been really lovely working with you – I have felt truly supported all the way…I hope we can continue to work together as we develop our individual giving strategy.”
